Construction of a modern heating plant in Weißwasser

The municipal utility company Stadtwerke Weißwasser is investing in a future-proof heat supply by constructing a new heating plant with a total capacity of 2 × 7.5 MW. This project lays the foundation for a reliable and independent district heating supply for the city.

The goal is to sustainably strengthen security of supply while becoming less dependent on external energy sources – particularly lignite-fired power plants. The new heating plant enables flexible and demand-oriented heat generation, optimally tailored to the city’s requirements.

Thanks to modern plant technology, not only is efficiency increased, but an important step is also taken toward a future-ready and resilient energy infrastructure. In this way, Stadtwerke Weißwasser is making a decisive contribution to the sustainable development of the region.
