Stadtwerke Weißwasser is constructing a new heating plant with a total capacity of 2 × 7.5 MW. The plant provides a new technical basis for the city’s independent district heating supply.

The new heating plant is designed to strengthen local heat generation and reduce dependence on external energy sources, particularly lignite-fired power plants. The system enables flexible, demand-based heat generation tailored to the requirements of the district heating network in Weißwasser.

The plant technology expands the existing energy infrastructure and enables Stadtwerke Weißwasser to manage a greater share of heat generation locally. The new heating plant therefore represents an important component in the continued development of the district heating supply in Weißwasser.
