Sustainable Energy Solution for the Dresden-Behringstraße District
Dresden aims to make its energy supply climate-neutral and more independent in the long term. As part of this vision, KET implemented a pioneering pilot project: a digitally controlled district heating network featuring a large-scale heat pump. By integrating a state-of-the-art air-source heat pump, SachsenEnergie is taking another important step toward climate-friendly heat generation in Dresden's Behringstraße district. The project is connected to a secondary district heating network, creating a forward-looking energy solution for the entire neighborhood.
The goal is to provide an efficient and sustainable heat supply. By utilizing renewable ambient heat from the air, a significant share of the required energy can be generated with low emissions, substantially reducing CO₂ emissions and contributing to climate protection.
The combination of innovative heat pump technology and intelligent grid integration enables a flexible, resource-efficient energy supply while strengthening the local energy infrastructure. The project demonstrates how urban districts can be developed in a sustainable and future-proof way.
